Single & Dual Cartridge Seals
Description
Cartridge seal is a ready-to-install mechanical seal. All parts of this cartridge mechanical seal form a compact unit together with the shaft sleeve, casing parts, connection flange and torque transmission element. Cartridge seal is an attempt to overcome the fitting problems of conventional seals. It is supplied in single and double form, and the gland plate is often fitted with various tappings to provide for flushing, cooling water injection, and disaster control.
Application
Single cartridge seal meets key industry pump standards and can be used in rotating shaft equipment where ANSI/DIN/API design seals cannot fit, including water-based and close-coupled or vertical water pumps.
Characteristics
1. Cartridge mechanical seal adopts sturdy drive mechanism and multi spring design. It is easy to install and operate and also convenient to replace seal-wear parts.
2. Cartridge seal is inside mounted, so it is a ready-to-install mechanical seal. And it has competitive price.
3. Cartridge mechanical seals are specifically designed to meet the requirements of high-end MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) applications to minimize downtime.
4. Having the components pre-assembled into a package not only means faster installation, cartridge seal also reduces the chance of human error during installation of the seal.
Components
Cartridge mechanical seal is a self-contained unit including a shaft sleeve, seal, and gland plate. The unit is fitted onto the pump shaft as a built assembly, and no further fitting is required.
Solution
Cartridge seal has to be very compact to fit into the available space. To produce as high a co-efficient of inertia as possible, we should guarantee the quality of seals. If higher in quality, less transient vibrations will affect the rotation parts. Such vibrations will be absorbed, lessening the tendency to vibrate the seal faces apart.
Remember if the seal faces open, then they are immediately vulnerable to contamination from the myriad dirt particles swirling around your plant. When the seal faces close, those particles are trapped in a carbon ceramic combination and become embedded in the carbon, and begin to score away at the mating face.
So please make sure the quality when you are choosing the cartridge mechanical seal. And pay attention to the state of seal faces when in operation.
